A series of quiet works with Japanese papers, sepia ink from pods, broken twigs, and encaustic.  

I found the pods during early morning hikes; pods that I left outside which later split open during an overnight rain. Water soaked the seeds inside, releasing a rich sepia color.  This was the starting point for the mixed media series.
